NSW: US wrong in Iraq, says Tim Fischer

JOHN HOWARD'S former deputy TIM FISCHER says the US BUSH administration has made a
mess of its occupation of Iraq.

However .. the former National Party leader and deputy prime minister refuses to give
an opinion as to whether Australia should still be involved in the conflict.

Mr FISCHER .. former National Party Leader .. says the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and
removal of the dictator SADDAM HUSSEIN was the right thing to do.

He says the future of Iraq depends on how the Bush administration adopted the findings
of the Baker-Hamilton Iraq Study Group report .. which was critical of US policy in the
country.
