A new Internet resource center launched Wednesday contains notonly the budget legislation, but also reams of information aboutthe House -- from members' financial disclosure statements tohistorical data and archives.
"This creates a whole new world," said House Speaker NewtGingrich, R-Ga., who helped dedicate the Legislative ResourceCenter in a converted storage room beneath the rotunda of theCannon House Office Building.The center combines the functions of several previouslyseparate offices, including the House Library, the Office of theHouse Historian and the House Document Room, to provide one-stopshopping for information about the House of Representatives.Visitors also can conduct research in person in the office in aconverted storage room beneath the rotunda of the Cannon HouseOffice Building.The Internet address is http://clerkweb.house.gov.
