Personality, Negative Social Interactions, and Depressive Symptoms
Abstract
The present study examined the associations among the frequency of negative social interactions, personality traits, and depressive symptoms in university students. Subjects completed measures of negative social interactions, sociotropy, autonomy, perfectionism, and depressive symptoms. It was found in the total sample that higher depression symptoms scores were correlated significantly with the frequency of negative social interactions, sociotropy, autonomy, and socially prescribed perfectionism.
